  [Work/School]

Even though my job right now is stable, I've been applying to jobs just to see what else is out there. I'm kind of in a phase in my life where I'm trying to figure out what God's plan for me is. I'm kind of confused as to what direction I need to go in. That's why I've been applying to random positions. I've also gone through the process of applying back to UW to take a class or two to keep myself educationally updated. Holy cow. I forgot has annoying UW policies are. Filling out an application to take a classes is time consuming, financial straining, and mentally exhausting. I just hope I am able to take a class during Spring Quarter.

Other than that, life's good. I'm trying to enjoy it the best I can.

  [Shopping]

My FedEx package finally arrived! It was filled of makeup brushes. yaaaay. A little bit ago I bought some of those Wet n' Wild eye shadows because Rite Aid was having a good deal going on. I basically bought all of the trio eye shadow palettes. I lacked eye shadow brushes, so I bought some online at E.L.F. I'm sure they aren't the best quality of brushes but they work fine for me. With shipping I paid $25 for all the brushes in the picture plus a little eyebrow palette thing with color & wax.

[Old Pictures]

I was playing around with my dad's DSLR and took some shots of a couple baby photos. This is me. I'm pretty sure this was taken at the playground at Coulon Park, in Renton.

This picture was taken outside of our old house in Tukwila. My haircut confused people. They didn't know if I was a girl or boy. What the heck, RIGHT?! I remember in pre-school how my teacher had to clarify that I was a girl when introducing me to other students. O_o

 [Food]

This is probably why I can't lose weight. UGH. I ate I big scoop for breakfast. I don't even use a bowl. I just find a big serving spoon, take a decent amount of the frozen confection, and eat it in the same manner as I would an ice cream cone. I can't be the only person in the world who does this. It's sooo good!

 [Nails]

I'm going to call this a bacteria mani. It's so gross. It looks like colonies of growing bacteria. It's nasty. Reminds me of the times I spent in microbiology lab. This mani didn't last long on my nails. I put it on last night and took it off this morning. I couldn't look at it any longer.

My current mani. 3 of 31 days of a nail art challenge. Galaxy nails! OOoOoh. ahhhh!

You should see the other girls nails art. They are great!

CRAZY SNOW PICTURE!

I recieved a forwarded e-mail from my boyfriend, Travis. This picture was forwarded to him from one of his co-worker's who got it from her nephew.  He works for the roads department in Tahoe. CRAZY!

My baby sister & the cat.

This is Dominique.

 She's my crazy fun sister.
When she opened the door she was wearing a princess tiara.
Five minutes later she came down the stairs with a pink veil and pink wings.

Travis and I went to go visit her and my dad today. She was painting.

I also happened to leave with my Dad's Digital SLR :)

Nails..

Today I was feeling really discouraged and out of it.
I wanted to do something fun to get my mind off of things.
A thought passed my mind to do a 'challenge' of some sort.
I thought about doing that 30 day photo challenge floating around.
But that didn't seem to exciting to me.
So nail art it is.
Just a new design everyday for 31 days.
Then I decided to make a blog dedicated to nail art.
And I invited people to do it with me :)

Check it out.

What?! 1 or 2 more days? Saaaad.

Hoorah! It's almost here.

I love getting packages in the mail. It's so exciting watching the progress of delivery. Ha ha. I remember how companies, back in the day, only had physical catalog sales available. Where someone would have to browse the pages, write down what products you wanted, send in a check through snail mail, then just wait patiently for the goods to arrive. This would take weeks. Now, you google what you want, click on item, enter a few #'s, and stalk the goods until they arrive to you safely.

It would be nice to get my stuff in the mail today. I have this scenario playing in my head where I think the FedEx man is knocking on my door. I excitedly open it but it's the man who asked me if I believe in Satan.

Ahhh.

Past nails!

OPI Black Shatter over brights :)

Mix of Zoya Crystal & Zoya Edyta

I don't know how I feel about this look. It's alright.

I've actually haven't had nail polish on my hands on for 3 days. WEIRD.
But I do have OPI Miami Beet on my toes. I got it from ULTA for free because of the ULTA rewards.
Woot woot. Happy Satuday. I've decided to not go to the practice GRE. eh. oh well, right?

I'm going to bake another cake for my niece today. It was her 2nd birthday yesterday.

OMG.

A few months ago I received an e-mail for the opportunity to take a practice Kaplan GRE test. I signed up since it was free and going to grad school has floated my mind but not seriously. I forgot about the practice test until I got a voicemail from a 1-800 number just a few minutes ago. I listened to it and realized that it's for tomorrow. I haven't taken a class since Spring Quater 2009. I haven't even practiced for  the practice test.  I feel like my intelligence has vastly declined in the past two years. I know that if I did take it my scores would be LOW like those jeans that girls used to wear back in high school.

It wouldn't hurt if I went. So maybe I will go. Maybe.

By the way, I talking about these jeans. haahah

My Old Caboodle

Haha.

My mom still uses my Caboodle that I had in elementary school. I wish I still had those Sanrio nail decals!

Why I Stand With Planned Parenthood

The House Voted to Defund Planned Parenthood

On  Feburary 18, our representatives in the House voted 240-185 to pass the Pence Amendment, which if made into law, will strip Planned Parenthood of all its federal funding. This would prevent Planned Parenthood and 102 affiliated organizations from receiving any federal funds -- including money for STD testing, pregnancy testing and cancer screenings, a Planned Parenthood press release says. Planned Parenthood also charges that the Pence amendment would "cut off 48 percent of Planned Parenthood patients -- approximately 1.4 million people -- from their source of health care."

I don't usually post anything too personal or opinionated on my blog. I rarely ever post anything on serious matters. So, if you happen to read this, please take some time to research more into the issue to become aware of what is going on. Because this is really awful. It also seems to be more than just a simple money issue. Some see it as a fight for culture and freedom.

From what I have read, and correct me if I am wrong, the underlying reason for cutting funds from Planned Parenthood is to gain control over the ever-so-controversial "abortion issue". Keep it legal? Make it illegal? Is it murder? Is it not murder? Whatever your view, I'm sure you have heard of the controversy.

Certain people keep fighting for all types of abortions to become illegal. I understand people have beliefs that it is murder for whatever reason.

I am Pro-choice and I am also a believer in minding your business. With that being said I really feel like those who are Pro-lifers shouldn't try forcefully instill their values on others. I feel like they should just focus on their own lives and consider that other may not live a life like their own. Every person lives a different life. People have different values, views, experiences, backgrounds, and morals. A person shouldn't expect everyone to agree with every single thought that they have.

Women in history have been performing abortions for many centuries. Why should they not be allowed to in modern times?

I'm getting a little side tracked from my point.

What I would really like for people to know about is what the budget cut would do. Rep. Mike Pence, who views about abortion are apparent, is scapegoating Planned Parenthood because they perform abortions. Moreover, by cutting funding from Planned Parenthood you take away basic health care and preventative measures from a huge population in the US.

Services include:
HIV/STI Testing
Birth Control
Cancer Screening & Prevention
Contraception
OB/GYN apointments
& Other Services

Without the availability of these services, it could lead to severe health issues and create greater financial struggles for individuals as well as the government later down the road. Prevention is the first line of defense in health care. Taking away these services target the populations that need it the most: low income, uninsured, and adolescent.

I could go on... but I think you should understand my point by now. You may not agree with it but at least you know where I stand.

Please, sign the open letter to congress.

OPI Holographic My Private Jet

I found the holopgraphic version of OPI's MPJ at a nail salon. It was used and maybe 80% full. I bought it for $8. I looked it up on ebay and there's an auction listing for a brand new bottle and there is a little less than 4 days left. There is 12 bids on it and it's already selling for $31!! What. The. Heck.

I've worn it twice already and I don't like it that much. I don't know. I like the way it looks in the bottle but on my nail it's a different story. It's cool, I guess, but it doesn't amaze me. Maybe it's because I haven't tried it on a sunny day. Do I need to experience the holographic goodness in proper lighting? Ha ha.

I'll try it on again. If third times a charm then great, I'll keep it. If not, I guess I'll just blogsale it.

La dee daaaah.

In other news, it's snowing. Ugh.

"Hanging out" in 2011.

Presidents' Day Weekend.

Over the weekend the band Travis is in, New Heights, had a show over the weekend with his friends Clara and her manager, Jon. So we spent most of the weekend eating food with friends.

Friday: Trav and I ate at Sushiland while waiting for them to arrive in Seattle. After that we went to Ivar's on the Pier for HH while waiting for dinner at the Crabpot. Travis & I stopped by Kerry Park to look at the moon. It was such a clear bright night. So beautiful. The picture a few posts back was from that night :)

Saturday: I rode up the Light Rail to downtown Seattle to meet up with Travis and everyone. While waiting I was able to snap pictures of some things I thought were pretty.

This was a wine bar to the left of the Chocolate Box.

 Pike Place :)

I think I took this picture on the corner of 2nd and Stewart.

Yay. Travis finally picked me up. It may have been sunny but it was so cold!

In between sound check and the actual show, Travis had to lead worship at his church in Redmond. We had to hurry back. We got there just in time before the first band was up.

This is one of my favorite song that's coming up on their next album. I love this song. I'm not even being that bias. Travis can even tell you that I'm not even the biggest fan of his music. Ha ha. Seriously. Don't get me wrong though. They are a very talented bunch! It's just not really my type on music.

I didn't record Clara but she did an amazing job :) Here's one of her fun songs.

Afterward we all ended up eating at Via Tribunali in Fremont! Yummmmm. Their Pizza is sooooo good. Piazza Dante is my favorite one. It has prosciutto and arugula among other toppings. It is so tasty.

Sunday: I drove up to Gasworks to meet up with Travis. I had time to sit and finally read the e-book Travis bought me :) He gifted me Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris. It's a funny book. I like it so far. Sedaris is a fun, witty, and charismatic writer. I like that.
When Travis met me at the park we decided to people watch for a few minutes. There was a father and son duo. The son was maybe 2 or 3 years old. The dad kept blowing up balloons (the longer shaped ones that circus clowns use to make animals) and he would either let it go then his son would chase after it OR the dad would tie off the end of the balloon and let his son pop it by jumping on it. It was so adorable to watch and his little laugh was sweet.

Afterward went to go meet up with everyone at Stumptown for coffee and then went to get Old School Frozen Custard. We said our goodbyes and them Travis & I headed to Kona Kitchen for Loco Moco & Kaula Pork and Cabbage. Later that night Travis and I watched Just Go With It. It was.. ok.

Monday: Holiday = No work. I really didn't do much. I went over to Travis' house. He was busy for a good 5-6 hours recording music with people so I ended up reading some more. Then I ended up falling asleep somehow.

Then when I woke up. Trav's session was over and we ate Tinola then went to Target to window shop. Isn't that artwork clever?!

HELLO.

Before work today there was someone knocking on the door. It's usually, my friend, the UPS guy, or the Jehovah's Witness people. Today it was the latter. I don't really mind listening to them share whatever they have to say. But this guy was like, "Do you believe in Satan?" I felt like I was being asked a trick question. So I responded with a meek and hesitant, "I know he exsists.."

How I really wanted to respond was with a funny face, scream 'OOOGA BOOOGA', then shut the door, and continue to get ready for work.

Anyways, dude left me some pamphlets about the Occult. I said I'd read them so I will.

Jesus is my friend. Have a nice day.

Wet n' Wild Candy-licious & Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure

It's 2am & I am not at all sleepy. My sleep pattern is so wacky this week.

This pink, Wet n' Wild Candy-licious, is what I wanted Zoya Lo to look like. I am happy I found this shade of pink. Lo was brighter than I expected. I wanted a more muted pink color.

My pinky looks so gross. It's squished and all sausage finger-like. LOL.

A year ago it would take me hours to paint my nails and it would look awful. At least now it looks cleaner and it takes 15-20 minutes. Thank goodness for quick drying topcoat. Besides the slight shrinkage, Seche Vite dries quickly and looks like glass. It's nice that you have to apply it while the color polish is still wet. I like being able to function normally 10 mins after I'm done painting.

Ahhhh. I'm seriously going to try sleeping now.

Wet n' Wild Color Icon Trios Swatches

I'm having one of those nights. It's midnight. The boyfriend is at band practice. I watched every episode of Secret Life of an American Teenager on Netflix and I don't feel like watching anything else right now. Parks and Recreation couldn't catch my attention like high schoolers sleeping with this one and that one who's pregnant with so and so's ex girlfriend's lover's baby. ha. ha.

Anyways. I've decided to swatch the eye shadow I got today. Rite Aid is having a sale right now on Wet n' Wild products this week. BOGO 50% off + if you spend $5 in Wet n' Wild products you get $2 in UP+ Rewards that can be used towards your next purchase. Catch my drift?! Good.

Left: Walking on Eggshells. Right: Knock on Wood

Besides the shitty color near my hand, the pigmentation is really dense. I like it! The one at the bottom is actually Urban Decay's Sin.

Swatches from top to bottom:
Knock on Wood: brow bone color
Knock on Wood: crease color
Knock on Wood: eyelid color
Walking on Eggshells: brow bone color
Walking on Eggshells: crease color
Walking on Eggshells:  eyelid color
Urban Decay: Sin

Thanks for looking baby booos.

Why I wanted to buy these -----> HERE!

GOOD NIGHT.

Quick V-day Mani!

Had 15 mins before dinner to squeeze in a mani :)

HugKissHugKiss

Happy Valentines' Day!

I had a pretty fun Love Bug weekend :) On Saturday, Travis and I went to Salty's on Alki's Brunch. We weren't actually there to celebrate v-day. We went to celebrate Trav's 24th birthday. He wasn't in town during his birthday weekend so I had to schedule it like 2 weeks after. Anyways... Salty's has best brunch in Seattle. If you make reservations for a seating at 9:30 am or earlier you get $10 off per person. It's still pretty expensive but completely worth it. They added more stuff since the last time I went there in October. Nom Nom Nom.

Best seat in the house. Corner booth, nice view of Seattle, & a big table.

After brunch we had a noon appointment for the Theo Chocolate Factory Tour. As much as I wanted it to be Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory... it wasn't. It was still informative and a good experience. Did you know that Theo is the only Fair Trade and Organic chocolate makers in the US? Pretty cool. Travis said a lot of the chocolate was sour. hahah. I guess we are just sooooo use to our 10% chocolate Hershey bars.

The confection on the left was a white chocolate lemon ganache thing & the one on the right was as earl grey tea caramel. They were both tasty.

Hairnets!

On Sunday, my family got together and went to visit my Manang's new place. We ate, played with the kiddos, and watched The Changeling. My Manang made Nutella crepes. Love them.

After work today, I'm headed over to Trav's house because he's making a lovely dinner :)  Maybe we'll give out the Valentine theme felt fortune cookies we made.

Love it or Hate it..
 HAPPY VALENTINES' DAY!
